Window Hummingbird Feeders
One of the most popular feeders to have is a hummingbird
feeder. These birds have a special attraction to many people.
So while any of these feeders is a great addition to the
yard, it really brings home the fun of a hummingbird feeder
to have a window feeder. With a window hummingbird feeder,
you can enjoy these birds as they fly right up to the window,
while you are going about your normal business inside.
With a window mounted feeder, you need to pay attention to
many of the same features you do for any hummingbird feeder.
But, in addition, you need to be sure that the window mount
you choose will work for your windows. Also, take care to not
which side you might want to view from, and make sure the
view is unobstructed, by choosing transparent materials.
Color is a great way to attract hummingbirds, so be sure that
there is a reasonable amount of red coloring in the feeder.
You really don't want to be adding food coloring to your s
hummingbird food.
Attachment to the Window - One area many
hummingbird feeders suffer from is regular cleaning, It's a
good idea to
clean a hummingbird feeder
once or twice a week. With the feeder in clear view and
attached to your window, you will probably be reminded
to clean it more regularly. Many window feeders attach
with suction cups, making it easy to remove and clean.
Another alternative is to use a hook or similar mount
that puts the feeder just outside the window so that you
can easily take it down to clean.
Mounting - Keeping the feeder in the shade
window works well, as the sunlight will encourage mold growth
in the feeder.
