Triple Tube Bird Feeders

Tube feeders are some of the most popular bird feeders sold today. They are relatively easy to fill, and most of them have a clear tube body so that you can easily check the seed level without taking the feeder off its mount. With the simple tube design, usually they are easy to get inside to clean with a hose or a brush. You can find tube feeders sized for different types of sees, such as nyjer feeders, so you can attract different birds with different tube feeders. They are simple to mount, often hanging from a pole or a simple hook, so you can put them where the squirrels can't get them.

Advantages of Tripe Tube Feeders
Triple tube feeders are great because they have many of those tube feeder advantages, but take them one step further. One obvious advantage is that the amount of bird seed that the feeder can hold is much larger, so if you have an active feeder, you don't need to refill it as often. And because you will have more seed and more room for perches, you can have more birds feeding at one time, which can be quite impressive, when they are all active.

Another advantage with three tubes is that you can vary the type of seed in each of the tubes. You can do this with a feeder that has the same style of feeder ports on each tube, for example, choosing to use strictly sunflower seed in one of the tubes. But in addition, you can find triple tube feeders that have different types of tubes in one feeder, for example one of them may be sized to handle nyjer seed, with the smaller slots as feeding ports in one of the tubes, which can really vary the types of birds that you can attract to one feeder.

As with many feeders, you may have to deal with squirrels.. Some feeders have a "squirrel resistant" top, but often these are made from plastic, and some have plastic tips that are painted a copper color. True copper bird feeders are much more resistant to chewing and destruction by squirrels, so if this is a need for you be sure to get the real copper. For some it may be better to get a caged bird feeder that has a wire mesh around the feeding port, even though that may keep out some of the larger birds as well.

Manufacturers of triple tube bird feeders include Opus, Duncraft, Perky Pet, and Droll Yankees.
