Bird Baths
A bird bath is attractive to birds, especially in times of
drought, or in the winter months. With just a shallow layer
of water, it's a safe environment. You will be more
successful in attracting birds if you keep it safe, make sure
that cats and squirrels can't get to the bath.
You can find concrete bird baths, and some lighter and
cheaper baths made from lightweight resin.
For a porch, patio, or balcony a hanging bird bath can be
just the ideal size. These are usually inexpensive, and are a
small size so that you don't need a major structure to hold
the weight of the water.
Solar bird baths use the suns power to run a small water
fountain. The sound of the water and the movement are
attractive to birds, and will keep mosquitoes from breeding
in standing water. An alternative to keep the water moving is
a water wiggler.
